JAY W. MALIS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP MEMBER / STUDENT REQUIREMENTS

MAY 2022-APRIL 2023 SCHOLARSHIP YEAR

Student Requirements:

• Student must be applying to or attending an accredited college or university full-time for an undergraduate degree.
• Student must show proof of completion of most recent academic year.
• 4 scholarship maximum per child.
• Scholarship will be maximum of $500 but will depend on amount in the fund and number of applicants. Amount may not be announced until Scholarship is awarded.
• One application per family per year.

Member Requirements:

To qualify a member’s child for a J. W. Malis Scholarship Award, the following guidelines must be followed.

• A 20-point system will be used which will require the member to involve himself in lodge activities.
• Monthly Meeting (beginning with May Meeting) = 2 pts per meeting (maximum of 14 points).
• Attend any Lodge event = 2 points per Event
• Committee Meetings = 1 point per meeting.
• Event Chair or Co-Chair = 2 points per Event.
• Member must be in good standing.

General Information:

• Scholarship Year is May 2022 – April 2023 because applications are due April 30, 2023.
• The Scholarship committee has the discretion to evaluate cases and special circumstances.
• Rules & Requirements are subject to change and new information for the following year will be announced every year in The Cherry Drop and/or Email communication.
